How to study for longer hours?
How can you study for longer hours? Well, you might have watched lots of videos and read lots of articles about this topic. You might also have tried to apply some sort of "study hacks" that you might have learnt from internet. But at the end of the day, are you satisfied with the amount of your work? Does that amount really making a progress for your preperation for some competition ?
We all want to beat the competition and get ahead of others. To make your goal into reality, you might want to increase your study hours. But firstly ask yourself a simple question- are you fully aware of the syllabus and the amount of work you need to put into daily to achieve that rank in your studies? If you aren't, then firstly consider how much you need to study daily to achieve that target. Take a look at your syllabus and make a list of amount of work you will do daily so that you can complete your syllabus earlier than the others. And this thing has nothing to do with the number of hours you need to study. So, stop being fascinated with studying 12 hours a day, or 18 hours a day and so on.
Now, you need to complete some amount of work daily to achieve your target, no matter how much amount of time it thing takes. It could require 10 or more hours, or could even be completed within an hour or so, depends on the number of chapters and assignments you need to complete daily. So, how can you complete your daily targets? Well, here are some steps that will help you in keep going:
1.)- Prioritize your schedule
Make a list of all the things you need to study daily and start prioritizing by putting hardest on the top, followed by other easier topics. Study what you consider hardest in the morning, when you are best in your capacity. By completing the hardest, you gain confidence which will help you in completing comparatively easier topics effectively and more faster.
2.)- Take small breaks after completing a task
When you have fully completed one of the tasks that you have to complete for that day, take small break and reward yourself for completing that assignment. The benefit for taking a break is that your focus and concentration restores within that interval of time. So, you can continue with your left off topics with full concentration and energy. But don't do something like gaming or any activity that involves consumption of brain. That will drain you more, and will take off your focus, concentration and will make you less energetic and sleepy.
3. Exercise regularly
Exercise is an important tool by which you can enhance your alertness, speed and brain functioning. It keeps your body in order which is highly required when you are studying for long hours.
4. Consider studying in a place you are not much familiar
Your room is your comfort zone. You do lot's of things there that includes, but is not limited to resting, sleeping, wasting time on phone, texting random people, watching youtube videos and lots of similar things. The brain sees your room as your chilling area, where sometimes you work, most of the time you chill. So, go to an unfamiliar place, so that your alertness is at peak, such as a library or some other room.
You can also try to some of the steps such as listening to music while studying, studying in daylight, if possible, or spill water on your face when feeling sleepy. But these methods are subjected to variability, for some it can do wonders, while for some nothing could happen, so experiment with such settings while you study to study for longer hours and complete your daily targets.
